Course objectives:
|
To state problems of special electronic components (devices for high-frequency application, Gunn and Read diodes, special IC circuits, optical fiber and optical equipment). To explain their physical principles and phenomena due to application field.

Requirements on student
|
Credit:
To participate in all practises (one absence is allowed).
To create reports including all part of mesurements.
To present summary of english technical article.
Exam:
To prove of knowledge from practises and lectures by short test and oral discussion.
To obtain credit befor exam.

|
Content of lectures:
1. Knowledge extension in semiconductor physics I. (energy band model, semiconductor defects, etc.)
2. Knowledge extension in semiconductor physics II. (kinetics phenomena, unsteady states, semiconductor surfaces)
3. Semiconductor sensors (converters)
4. Special high-power unipolar switches
5. Models of bipolar and unipolar transistors
6. Special integrated circuits
7. Semiconductor generators of high frequency signals (Gunn diode, Read diode)
8. Components for high frequency signals processing
9. High frequency and switching properties of bipolar and unipolar transistors
10. Components for optoelectronic, special optical fibre systems
11. Principles for optical computers design
12. Principles for quantic computers design
