Lectures: 1. Standard and Type - UP Workshops, Halabala, Koželka, et al. - School of Art in Zlín 2. Organic Design and New Materials 3. Frederick Kiesler - Ladislav Sutnar - Exhibitions and Exhibition Design 4. "Good Design" and the Ulm School of Design 5. Late Modernism - Brutalism 6. Synthesis of Architecture and Art in Interiors 7. Experiments of the 1960s: Spectacle, Radical Design, and Pop Art 8. Anti-design and Postmodernism 9. High-tech and Machinism - Minimalism 10. Conceptual Design - Droog Design - Critical Design 11. Czech Furniture and Interior Design from the 1990s to the Present 12. New Decorativism of the 21st Century - Democratic Design - Sustainability 13. Field Trip Seminar: The content of the seminars will be: 1) presentation of selected topics supplementing and deepening the topics of the lectures and/or representing the current scene and subsequent discussion (each student will present one topic/personality/work during the semester) 2) discussion of topics from assigned texts 3) discussion of topics from screenings and documents 4) excursion and/or visit to the exhibition, permanent exhibitions of UPM, ZČM, NTM, etc. 5) special lecture by a visiting expert
