1. Sculpture before World War I (Art Nouveau, the rise of the avant-garde) 2. Postwar and interwar avant-garde movements (Dada, Surrealism, Poetism, etc.) 3. Postwar art (after 1945) - new approaches to the human figure (themes: expression of (existential) pain, placement of the figure in the landscape, and others) versus abstract approaches (e.g., David Smith) 4. Pop art, New Realists, hyperrealism, neo-pop 5. Minimalism versus post-minimalism 6. Kinetic art, movement, light, Op art 7. Conceptualism, action art, happenings, body art 8. Feminism, gender and power, post-feminism 9. Earthworks, land art, nature, ecology, climate crisis 10. Site-specific installations (public urban space, nature), the crisis of the monument 11. Internet, video sculpture, sound sculpture 12. Postcolonial approaches and artistic strategies vs. a return to traditions 13.
