Course content

Students who have fulfilled all the requirements and obligations set forth in the Study and Examination Regulations may register for this course. In their dissertation proposals, students must primarily define the basic methods of their research, the current state of knowledge regarding the subject matter under investigation, and the objectives of the dissertation; the mandatory structure of the dissertation proposal may be specified by the faculty's internal regulations. In the Philosophy and History of Science and Technology study program, a separate part of the thesis defense is an examination on the theoretical foundations related to the content of the doctoral program. When preparing for the defense, the student relies on the review of the dissertation thesis. The student's task is to address all comments and provide additional explanations regarding the thesis's subject matter. The student consults with the thesis advisor regarding the format of the defense. The format and conduct of the examination on theoretical foundations are determined by the supervising department, and the student consults with the program coordinator and their thesis advisor regarding their preparation.
