Course content
Main thematic areas 1) Data sources and information base: Working with registers and censuses as a basis for community planning and needs analysis. 2) Population structure and dynamics: Study of age structure, dependency index, and the impact of demographic aging on the capacity and sustainability of social services. 3) Social determinants of reproduction and mortality: Analysis of the relationship between socioeconomic status, occupation, and life expectancy (social gradient), including issues of reproductive health and family counseling. 4) Transformation of family models: Reflection on new forms of cohabitation, unmarried partnerships, and divorce rates, with an emphasis on identifying the risks of poverty in single-parent families. 5) Migration and integration: Typology of migration processes and challenges related to social inclusion and working with foreigners. 6) Population projections and planning: Use of population projections to predict future needs and effectively allocate human and financial resources in social programs.
