Course content
|
Lectures 1. Intensive and resuscitation care, definitions, concepts of specialized intensive care, workplace and organization. 2. SIRS, MODS. Sepsis and life-threatening infections. Patient care in septic state. Principles of antibiotic treatment. 3. Shock and its forms, pathophysiology, symptomatology and therapeutic possibilities in intensive care. 4. Respiratory insufficiency - therapeutic options. ARDS. Special monitoring of respiratory tract and UPV. 5. Acute cardiovascular diseases, examination methods of the heart and blood circulation, care for critically ill patients cardiology. Acute coronary syndrome in intensive care. 6. Acute conditions in cardiology I: cardiogenic shock, pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism. 7. Acute conditions in cardiology II: haemodynamically significant arrhythmias, hypertensive crisis. 8. Specifics of care for patients with disorders of hemocoagulation - DIC. 9. Acute conditions in gastroenterology: acute GIT bleeding, acute pancreatitis. Pathophysiology of digestive system, reaction GIT to the critical threat to the organism, peculiarities of the care of these patients. 10. Comprehensive care for patients with acute renal impairment. Acute tubular necrosis. Excretory pathophysiology system failure, renal failure with an impact on the critical state of the body. Exercises 1. Transplant medicine, brain death. Organ donor care. 2. Ethical issues in intensive care. 3. Basics of artificial pulmonary ventilation. 4. Non-invasive pulmonary ventilation. Use of prone positioning and other "rescue" procedures. 5. Replacement i.v. solutions. Care of the patient in hypovolemic shock. 6. Transfusion products and blood derivatives. Preparation of transfusions. Principles of effective haemotherapy. 7. Comprehensive patient care in intensive care, invasive and non-invasive monitoring in intensive care. Instrumentation in intensive care. 8. Haemodynamic monitoring in intensive care. 9. Specifics of the care of the mushroom-intoxicated patient in intensive care. Fulminant hepatic failure. 10. Intermittent and continuous elimination techniques in intensive care - principles, anticoagulation, monitoring.
