Course content
Lectures 1. Specifics of patient care in intensive care. Categorization of patients in intensive care. Admission of a patient to the emergency department. 2. Transfusion products and blood derivatives, principles of effective hemotherapy. Approach to a patient with life-threatening bleeding in emergency care. 3. Infusion solutions and fluid therapy in emergency care. 4. Primary examination of a patient with a sudden deterioration in condition. 5. Central venous catheterization. Monitoring of central venous pressure. Preparation of devices and assistance in the introduction of arterial access. 6. Ensuring airway patency in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. Medical gases and principles of working with them. 7. Artificial pulmonary ventilation. Non-invasive artificial pulmonary ventilation. 8. Care of patients on artificial pulmonary ventilation. 9. Internal environment and acid-base balance disorders in emergency care. 10. Credit test. Exercises 1. Nursing table in intensive care. Patient hygiene in the intensive care environment. Equipment in emergency care. 2. Monitoring and instrumentation in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care - part 1. 3. Monitoring and instrumentation in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care - part 2. 4. Ensuring airway patency - practical training. 5. Ensuring airway patency - practical training. 6. Airway care in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. Oxygen therapy. 7. Preparation of transfusions. Introduction and care of NGS. 8. Parenteral and enteral nutrition in emergency care. 9. Intraosseous access. Practical training in peripheral vein cannulation and intraosseous access. Tools and equipment in prehospital emergency care. 10. Advanced emergency resuscitation - practical training in resuscitation of children.

  • Contact hours - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for formative assessments (2-20) - 4 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 30 hours per semester
