Course content
Definitions radiation. Radiology - Introduction, scope of activities. Conventional procedures (fluoroscopy, radiography). Computed tomography - principles, indications. Angiography - a principle indication. Ultrasound - a principle indication. Magnetic resonance imaging - a principle indication. Nuclear medicine - principles, indications. Basic radionuclide appearance, functional and laboratory diagnostic procedures. Radiotherapy - Introduction, scope of activities. Basic radiotherapeutic procedures. Principles of radiation protection of patients and medical staff.

learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students understand the basic principles of radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic methods and procedures. They are able to prepare patients who shall undergo diagnostic or treatment procedures. Students understand the basic methods of protection against radiation of the patients and the medical and nursing staff.
