Course content
Lectures: 1.Introduction into a course. Anatomic terminology. Body planes, body directions. Cell, tissues - classification. 2.Epithelium. Connective tissue - ligaments, cartilage, bone. 3.Articulation. General anatomy of a joint. Classification of joints according to body location. Vertebral column - framework, connection, curving. 4.Muscular tissue - types. Nervous tissue - neuron, reflex. Body liquids. 5.Gastrointestinal tract I - general structure of alimentary canal. Oral cavity ( tongue, teeth), salivary glands, pharynx, oesophagus, stomach. 6.Gastrointestinal tract II - small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas. 7.Peritoneal cavity and extraperitoneal areas. Respiratory system I - classification. Upper respiratory tract. Nasal cavity. Paranasal sinuses. 8.Respiratory system II - lower respiratory tract ( larynx, trachea, bronchi), lungs, plesury. Mediastinum - classification. 9.Uropoetic system - classification. Kidneys, upper urinary tract ( callices, renal pelvis, ureter) and lower urinary tract ( urinary bladder, urethra). 10.Male reproductive system - classification. Penis, male urethra, scrotum and its parts (testis, epididymis), prostate, glands of urethra, seminal vesicle. 11.Female reproductive system - classification. External genital organs ( clitoris, labia majora, labia minora, Bartholin´s glands). Internal genital organs ( uterus, Fallopian tubes - oviducts, ovaries ). Supporting apparatus. Menstrual cycle. 12.Cardiovascular system - classification. Classification of circulatory system. Heart ( location, cardiac wall structure, cardiac vessels and nerves, transfer cardiac system). Survey of blood vessels - arteries, veins. The meaning of microcirculation. Lymphatic system. Spleen. 13.CNS - spinal cord, structure of cerebrum, midbrain, brain stem, cerebellum, medulla oblongata, pons). 14.PNS - spinal, cranial and autonomous nerves. 15.The sense organs. Practical excercises: 1. Skeletal system I. - bones of upper and lower extremities, pelvis as a unit - size, vertebrae. 2. Skeletal system II. - thoracic bones, skull. 3. Articulation system - joints of upper and lower extremities. 4. Muscular system I. - head muscles, muscles of upper and lower extremities. 5. Muscular system II. - muscles of a trunk. 6. Demonstration of peritoneal organs at models I. - testing of knowledge acquired in lectures - gastrointestinal tract. 7. Ongoing assessment - tissues, general anatomy of a joint , joint of upper and lower extremities. 8. Demonstration of peritoneal organs at models II. - testing of knowledge acquired in lectures - gastrointestinal tract. 9. Demonstration of organs of respiratory system at models - testing of knowledge acquired in lectures. 10. Demonstration of organs of urinary system at models - testing of knowledge acquired in lectures. 11. Ongoing assessment: gastrointestinal tract + respiratory system. 12. Demonstration of reproductive (genital ) organs at models - testing of knowledge acquired in lectures. 13. Heart - macroscopic description. Arteries of head and neck. Arteries of extremities. 14. Venous and lymphatic system - demonstration at models. 15. Spinal cord, demonstration of parts of nervous system at models.
