Course content

Content 1. Historical development of surgery, surgical specializations, operation terminology, indications and contraindications 2. Asepsis, antisepsis, disinfection, sterilization, hospital infections, general symptoms of inflammation and methods of treatment 3. Preoperative, postoperative care and complications. 4. General concepts in traumatology, wound, wound healing, polytrauma. Bleeding, stop bleeding, transfusion products. 5. Basics of the abdominal cavity surgery, Basics of Vascular Surgery. Abdomen injuries. 6. Basics of thoracic surgery. Principles of cardiac surgery. Chest injuries. 7. Introduction to urology and neurosurgery. Skull and brain injuries. 8. Burns. 9. Hand injuries - a tendons 10. Joints injuries. Soft knee. 11. Fractures - conservative therapy, surgical therapy. Healing complications.
