Course content
Lectures 1. Mechanism of nerve management - CNS hierarchy in the effect on peripheral organs. Excitement. Mediator transfer at synapses. Reflexes. Functional CNS states and integration functions - EEG, sleep and wakefulness, motivation, emotion, memory, learning, limbic system. 2. Specific and nonspecific immunity.Physiology of the endocrine system. Stress. 3. Physiology of muscular tissue. Mechanism of contraction and relaxation. Reflective motorics. Muscle tone. Reflexes. Proprioception. EMG. 4. Physiology of the respiratory system - lung ventilation, breathing mechanics, pulmonary volumes and capacities, pulmonary circulation, respiration, nerve and chemical regulation of breathing. The principle of regulation in the digestive tract. Physiology of the cardiovascular system. - electrical cardiomyocyte activity, resting and action potential, ECG. 5. Heart cycle. Starling's law. External manifestations of cardiac activity. Hemodynamics of blood circulation. Flow and pressure in arteries. Microcirculation. Blood flow and vein pressure. Control of blood circulation. Lymphatic system. 6. Physiology of renal excretion. Management of kidney functions. Physiology of male genital system. 7. Female genital system physiology. Menstrual cycle. 8. Skin physiology. Skin receptors. Tactile sensation, pain. 9. Physiology of senses - body image, smell, taste, sight. 10. Physiology of senses - hearing-equilibrium system. 11. Written credit exam.
