Course content
Lectures 1. Anatomical nomenclature, orientation on the human body, basic anatomical position, plaines, axes, directions, terminology of joints movements in individual plaines. 2. Basic diagnostics - weight, height, BMI. Anthropometric points on the body. The principles of palpation. 3. Anthropometry - length and circumferential dimensions on the upper and lower limbs. 4. Anthropometry - circumferential and width dimensions on the head and trunk. 5. Basic examination of standing. Position and mobility of the spine, orientation on the spine. Plumb test. 6. Tests evaluating the mobility of the spine. Pelvic position, orientation on the pelvis. 7. Diagnostics of the joint - aspection, palpation, active and passive movements, quantity and quality of movement. Goniometry - introduction to measurement, SFTR record. Goniometry of the cervical spine. 8.The upper limb joints goniometry - shoulder joint, elbow joint, wrist, hand. 9. The lower limb goniometry - hip joint, knee joint, ankle joint, foot. 10. Hypermobility and hypermobility assessment. 11. Diagnostics of muscles - aspection, palpation. Muscle tone. Examination of muscles in the cervical spine region. Tests for shortened muscles according to Janda. Shortened muscles examination. 12. Examination of the muscles of the trunk and the lower limb. Tests for shortened muscles according to Janda. Shortened muscles examination. 13. Muscular dysbalance. Upper and lower crossed syndrome. Layered syndrome. Causes, consequences, body position. 14. Muscle test according to Janda - introduction. Testing principles, evaluation, method of execution. Testing of mimic muscles. 15. Written credit exam. Practicals Follow on the theory of lectures. Teaching on models, demonstrations. Aspection and palpation acquisition in the diagnostics of locomotor system disorders - practical training. Introducing and learning the examination using tape gauge, plumb line, pelvimeter, goniometer.
