Course content
Lectures 1. Historical development of transcultural / multicultural nursing. Multicultural and transcultural nursing. A comprehensive view of multicultural nursing. Transcultural / multicultural trend of social development. Multicultural / Transcultural Society in the Czech Republic. 2. Basic concepts of multicultural nursing - culture, ethnicity, multicultural nursing, cultural values cultural relativism, ethnocentrism, migration, minority and majority groups, etc. Explanation of terms spirituality, religion, faith. The spiritual life of man. 3. Cultural shock in the treatment of foreigners and minorities. Foreigners in the Czech Republic and issues of integration and health care. Model Madeleine Leininger, Joyce Newman Giger and Ruth Elaine Davidhizar; Model of Cultural Development Competencies - Irena Papadopoulus. 4. Legislative anchoring of health care for foreigners in the Czech Republic. Migration and its consequences for health care. Healthcare for alien. 5. Ethical principles in multicultural nursing. Educational activities with regard to ethnic, national or ethnic client's religious affiliation. 6. Communication principles in multicultural nursing. Communication barriers, communication etiquette, solutions multicultural problems. Specifics of nonverbal communication with foreigners in outpatient and hospital care 7. - 9. Ethnic, religious communities in the Czech Republic: the historical development of the community in the world, the Czech Republic, the life philosophy of the community, characteristics, spiritual development, health assessment in the community (Christian churches in the Czech Republic, Judaism, Islam; religious movements, sects and spiritual societies; the most common Asian communities in the Czech Republic Vietnamese, Chinese, Mongols, Japanese; Buddhism, Hinduism, Roma ethnicity in the Czech Republic; Ukrainian and Russian Minority In Czech Republic). 10. Credit test.
