Course content
The subject of professional practice in primary and community care is conceived as practical. Professional practice in primary and community care takes place in primary and community care facilities in gynecological clinics, in private and community midwifery practices, and in community centers for maternal and child care. Students will get acquainted with the specifics of nursing care in primary and community care, with individual forms of nursing care. Experienced performance (examinations and monitoring of pregnant women, counseling for expectant mothers, examination of women in puerperium, examination and care of the newborn after delivery in the home environment, care and support of the family in the period of parenthood, support of lactation, nursing care of women with gynecological diseases, education of women about reproductive health and healthy lifestyle) are recorded in the Recording of performances and other professional activities in midwifery Journal of Professional Practice. The aim of the course is to prepare midwifery students for self-employment after completing their studies in primary and community care. Furthermore, the goal is to develop critical thinking, teamwork, interest in further personal and professional development.
