Course content
Lectures 1. Health care system in the Czech Republic, development of social work in health care in the Czech Republic 2. Education of health and social workers 3. Competence of the social worker in the health system 4. Defining the role of the social worker in the health system, the social worker in the health team 5. Quality management of social work in healthcare 6. Legislation affecting the activities of social workers in health care 7. Social consequences of diseases and possibilities of social assistance 8. Work activities of a social worker in the healthcare sector (social work with individuals, families) 9. Psychosocial aspects of health and disease (chronic diseases, psychological and social contexts of health and disease) 10. Selected specifics of social work in the health system 11. Social work in healthcare with specific target groups - work with the elderly, the issue of homelessness, social burial. 12. Social work in health care with specific target groups - oncology patients (hospice and palliative care), issues of mothers at gynecology-obstetrics clinics (e.g. underage mothers, drug addicts, perinatal loss). 13. Social work in healthcare with specific target groups - children and minors in healthcare facilities, ethnic groups, work with the medically handicapped (adults, children). Practicals 1.
