Course content
1. Basics of soil knowledge, basic soil problems, soil protection. 2. Soil, origin, composition. Types and types of soils. 3. Fundamentals of nutrition and plant protection. Agriculture and the environment. 4. Genetics and breeding of cultural plants. 5. Weeds. Indicating botany. Gene Engineering. Merismy. 6. Basic field crops - cereals, root crops. 7. Forage crops, technical crops, etc. 8. Basics of horticulture, fruit growing. 9. Groceries. Flower shop. 10. Tropical and subtropical cultural plants. 11. Individual species and their use. 12. Medicinal, poisonous, tonifying plants and drugs. 13. Recognizing cultural plants and their seeds, the basics of their processing and the basics of healthy nutrition.

Knowledge
Basics of biology and ecology.
Používat základní biologické systémy, rozpoznat přírodniny uváděné v učebnicích ZŠ a SŠ, vyhledat informace k vzájemným vztahům mezi organismy.
Rozpozná běžné druhy rostlin a živočichů, ale i minerálů a hornin. Vymezí hypotézu a vyhledá cesty k jejímu řešení.

Knowledge
The student can describe basic types of soils, basic soil problems, principles of soil protection, formation and composition of soils.
The student can describe the basics of plant nutrition and protection, the principles of agriculture and its connection with the environment.
The student can explain the basic principles of genetics and plant breeding.
The student can explain the concepts of weeds, indicator botany, genetic engineering, meristems.
The student can divide and characterize basic field crops (cereals, roots), fodder crops, technical crops.
The student knows the basic principles of horticulture, fruit growing, vegetable growing and flower growing.
The student can characterize tropical and subtropical cultivated plants, give their examples and their use.
The student can explain the concepts of medicinal, poisonous, tonic plants and drugs.
Skills
The student also justifies the solution of basic problems of applied biology and suggests possible solutions to these problems.
The student practically knows cultivated plants and their seeds.
The student uses knowledge from systematic subjects (botany, zoology, mineralogy and petrology) and compares partial views on applied biology and documents proposals for changes in their approach.
