Course content
1. Human ontogeny and the influence of the environment on the formation of the human individual. 2. Movement system, its development, movement. The central nervous system and its development. 3. Human nutrition and lifestyle of a school-aged child. 4. Reproductive system. Sexual behavior and education. 5. The human immune system. Allergy. 6. Infectious diseases of childhood. 7. Biological nature of learning. 8. The biological nature of stress. Traumatic experiences. 9. Hygiene. Work and rest mode. The microclimate of the classroom. 10. Selected mental illnesses and disorders in childhood. Addictions. 11. Prevention of health risks. Inclusion of children with disabilities. 12. - 13. First aid.

know human body: important chemicals composing human body, cell structure, tissues, organs
know human phylogenesis and ontogenesis, aimed at children
know human body anatomy and physiology emphasising child´s specifics: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, intergumentary, urinary, circulatory, digestive, nervous, and reproductive system
know how genetics and ontognesis influence human health, emphesising children
know main hazards influencing human health including pathogens and other factors causing human diseases, aimed at children
know hygiene rules, basics of health science and first aid
know the needs and possibilities of children from the point of view of biology
Skills
understand relation of human anatomy, human physiology and human health
characterise physiological mechanism of: muscle contraction, respiration, urine formation and urination, digestion, nervous system function, including senses, hormone function, immune reactions including immunization, menstrual cycle
be able to critically assess different information concerning human nutrition and human health in respect to anatomical structures and physiological processes in human body
characterise sexual behaviour and be able to include sexual education into the primary school education
