Course content
1. Basic concept of teaching biology: transmissive and constructivist approach. The teacher's concept of teaching. 2. Learning process, concept-forming process, recognition of natural science laws. Preconcept, concept and misconcept. 3. Biology teaching methods - classification of teaching methods, method selection criteria, use of the selected method. 4. Alternative ways of teaching biology. Examples of alternative approaches and their evaluation. BOV, project teaching and others. 5. Teacher preparation for teaching, definition of the educational goals of the selected thematic units. 6. Creating preparations for teaching - possibilities, goals, expected outputs and key competences. 7. Evaluation of learning and teaching, assessment and classification in biology. Examples of observations on selected biology topics. 8. Didactic tests, their creation and evaluation. Methodology of oral examination and other assessment and classification methods. 9. Reflection of teaching biology as a tool for improving the quality of teaching, progress, gathering information about teaching, mental image, criterion and documentation record of teaching. 10. Quality of biology teaching and its analysis. Teaching quality, its didactic analysis, model of deep structure, didactic formalism. 11. Didactic analysis of situations from the students' own pedagogical practices. 12. Use of mobile devices in teaching. Didactic and computer technology. Sample applications and activities. 13. Joint reflection of the subject in relation to completed internships and future professional orientation of the students
