Course content
1. Introdution to microbiology. 2.-4. Structures of prokaryotic cell. 5. Growth and multiplication of bacteria. 6. Ecology of bacteria and cyanophyta. Industrial use of microorganisms and biotechnologies. 7. - 8. Metabolism of prokaryots (phototrophic, chemolithotrophic, chemoorganotrophic bacteria). 9. Genetics of bacteria (genome, transformation, conjugation, transduction, plasmids). 10.- 11. Patogenity and virulency of bacteria. Antibiotics and substances with bacteriostatic properties. 12. Taxonomy of bacteria. 13. Virology (general virology, synopsis of DNA and RNA viruses, prions)
