International politics and the research theory Realism the founding paradigm - first and second great debate Liberal approaches - looking for alternatives Neormarxism Security in the classic IR theory Third debate and approaches of 70s and 80s New topics, new approaches - fourth great debate Constructivism in the IR Theories of integration Theory and praxis of the international cooperative institutions Development studies

identify the fundamental turning points that had a major impact on the structure of the international system
distinguish the basic phases of the development of the international system
characterise the concepts of the theory of international relations commonly used in the analysis of international institutions, processes and actors
characterise paradigmatic ideas about the formation of the international system
recognise and classify the basic topics of international relations
Skills
analyse events in international politics at the basic level
choose an adequate theoretical approach for the interpretation of processes in international relations
use adequate terms corresponding to the terminology of the field in Czech and English
interpret historical-political events on the basis of knowledge of the system characteristics of the international system in individual phases
