Course content
Basic topics: 1. Selected thematic areas from current archaeology on the basis of specialized literature - students´papers and discussions. 2. Elaboration of a seminar paper. 3. Possibilities and limits of the use of written sources in archaeology. 4. Introduction to historical geography. 5. The possibilities of the use of historical map documentation. 6. Introduction to iconography of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age and the possibilities of using iconographic sources. 7. The possibilities of using iconographic sources of the modern period. 8. Introduction to toponomastics and the possibilities of its use in archaeology. 9. Archaeology and numismatics.
