1. Introduction to a course. Basic notions in digital photography ? picture formats and their use, basic settings; basic processing, presentation, transport; outcomes and archiving. Set tasks for semester. 2. Digital cameras, principles, fundamental parts, types, functions, modes. Natural and artificial light, memory card, connectors, card readers. Example of controlling a particular instrument. 3. Classic analog photography. Camera obscura principals. Latent image phenomenon. Analog cameras - basic parts, types, constructions and functions. 4. Classic photography. Negative and positive process. Types of materials. Steps, processing, archiving, presentation, outcomes. Conversion of latent image into real image - chemical process - practical example. 5. Construction and structure of a photo image. Structure of an image shot, phases of technical realization using classical and digital systems. Exposure strategy in photographing a chosen motive. Light specifics of a scene. 6. Basic concepts of exponometry - exposure, exposure time, shutter and shutter number, sensitivity of sensor and film, the importance of exposure number. Exposure compensation, examples. 7. Methods for measuring exposure ? external, internal . Methods of measuring reflected light. Advantages of using TTL measure, types, methods, usage. Integral, spot and zone measurement. 8. Camera lens, types, basic properties. Sharpness of the photographic image, the importance of depth of sharpness. Ways to focus the lens - active, passive and predictive autofocus, problems in practice. Image stabilizer. 9. Color composition in photography and its functions. Work with light, types and the importance of lighting. Basic principles of lighting in the studio, treating light in color and black-and-white photographs. 10. Basic photographic genres; specifics, methods, technical equipment, processing. Special photograpic techniques; device, props; usage. 11. Technique and strategy of various photographic genres - landscape photography, still life, architecture, portraits, coverage, document, staged photography, macro-photography. 12. History and development of photography . History and origin of photographic genres and styles. Photography in the context of fine arts. Social and cultural importace of photography. 13. Characters of world, Czechoslovak and Czech photography. Important representatives of genres, styles and schools.
