Course content
Lectures 1. Development of surgery and position of surgery at present, basic surgical terminology, individual surgical workplace. 2. Examination methods in surgery, work and duties of individual categories of workers, especially with regard to emergency situations and duties of a paramedic. 3. Asepsis and antisepsis. 4. Blood transfers and infusion treatment in surgery. 5. Trauma, polytrauma (types of injuries and life threatening). 6. Thermal injuries, total and local. 7. Types of injuries in children. 8. Operation block, surgical procedures, preoperative and postoperative care, complications, dietetics, rehabilitation. 9. Inflammations and oncology. 10. Head and neck surgery. Exercises 1.-2.Investigation methods in surgical disciplines from the perspective of NLZP - specifics and tasks of NLZP. Preoperative, perioperative and postoperative period from NLZP point of view. 3.-4. Postoperative complications - specifics and tasks of NLZP. Basics of rehabilitation after surgery. 5.-6. Nutrition in surgery, possibilities of nutrition, ways of feeding. 7.-8. Care and wound healing options. Wet wound healing, vacuum therapy - specifics and tasks of NLZP. 9.-10. Bandages and other surgeries used in surgical wards - practical training.
