Course content
1. FIRST AID First aid in general. Contents of the first aid kit. 2. APPROACH TO THE CASUALTY Addressing and approaching the casualty. Self-safety - rule No. 1. Focus on basic vital signs - consciousness, breathing, circulation. ABCDE procedure. Intermediate check - test - ABCDE procedure 3. ADULT RESUSCITATION Basic emergency adult resuscitation - individual steps. Instructional videos. Intermediate check - test - adult resuscitation. 4. CHILD RESUSCITATION Child under one year of age. Child over one year of age. Clear airway. Check breathing and artificial respiration. Chest compressions. Instructional video - child resuscitation. Continuous check - test - resuscitation of the child. 5. DUI Diseases and conditions accompanied by dyspnoea. Inhalation of a foreign body. Instructional video - expulsion manoeuvres - adult. Airway obstruction in children. Instructional video - expulsion manoeuvres - child. Asthma bronchiale. Childhood laryngitis. Continuous check - test - dyspnoea conditions. 6. BLEEDING Types of bleeding and localisation. Arrest of bleeding and wound care. Arrest of massive bleeding - direct pressure to wound, application of pressure dressing, application of tourniquet. Bleeding from body cavities. Continuous control - test - bleeding 7. BONE FRACTURES. Symptoms accompanying bone fractures. Treatment of fractures - immobilisation, cooling, stopping bleeding. Task - solve a model situation. Intermediate control - test - bone fractures 8. ALLERGIC REACTION Definition. First aid procedure. Anaphylaxis. Adrenaline pen - the procedure for its use. Continuous control - test - allergic reaction. 9. STROKE. Definition. Neurological symptoms. Lateralization. FAST. Instructional video - manifestations of CMP First aid in a patient with CMP. Intermediate follow-up - test - stroke. Final task - reflection.
