Course content
|
Lectures: 1.-2. General principles of immunochemistry and immunoanalysis. Basic concepts and definitions. Types of imunnoanalytic methods - the advantages and disadvantages of each type of analysis. Isotopic and non-isotopic methods, competitive and noncompetitive methods, homogeneous and heterogeneous methods. Enzyme immunoanalysis (ELISA). Chemiluminescence. Basic types of devices for immunoanalysis. Manual pipetting methods, semiautomatic, automatic instruments, multiplex analysis. The system of "random" system "batch". 3.-4. Specific pre-analytical problems in the immunoanalysis. Parameters of quality in the imunnoanalysis - accuracy, precision, sensitivity, the measurement result, the working interval. Uncertainty of measurement, measurement errors. Internal and external quality control. Certification and accreditation of the immunoanalytical lab. The main principles of interpretation of the results. Overview of clinical applications of the immunoanalytic methods - endocrinology, oncology, screening programs and more. Laboratory practicals: 1.-2.Familiarization with the operation of the immunoanalytical laboratory, from sample receipt after sending the results to a doctor.Determination of the selected biomarker by ELISA. Evaluation of the measurement results from an analytical point of view. 3.-4.Evaluation of the quality parameters, internal and external quality control. Evaluation of the results in terms of contribution to diagnosis.

A student acquires basic laboratory habits in the sphere of immunoanalysis, acquaints himself/herself with highly specific and highly sensitive (nmol - pmol) procedures in biological material analysis. He/she makes practical acquaintance with chosen laboratory devices and will learn to assess the investigation quality parameters and principles of their long-term observation. |
