Course content
Exercises 1. Practical training of care for a hospital bed, adjustment of bed without and with adult sick and child. Handling immobile patient. Handling of auxiliary bed devices. 2. Practical training in ensuring hygienic care for children and adults. Hygienic oral cavity care, special cavity care oral. Caring for a patient with bedsores and sore spots. Hygienic care for a heavily polluted patient. 3. Practical training of serving adults and children. Nutritional status monitoring. Enteral nutrition - methods of administration. 4. Practical training in monitoring physiological functions - consciousness, blood pressure, pulse, body temperature, breath, weight and height. 5. Practical training of dressing techniques. Relapses and assistance in small surgical procedures. 6. Practical training of biological material collection. 7. Practice drug administration. Application of drugs per os, s.c., i.m., i.v., per rectum. 8. Practical training for infusion and transfusion. PZK cannulation, infusion and transfusion procedure. 9. Practical training to ensure patient emptying. Catheterization, introduction of permanent catheter, permanent care urinary catheter, urinary bladder irrigation. Enema. 10. Practical training of assistance in punctures and selected endoscopic examinations. Preparation of aids, preparation and care patient before and after examination.

positioning the patient and controlling the basic examination and treatment positions
uses scoring systems (risk of pressure sores, patient self-sufficiency, risk of falling, nutritional screening)
performs monitoring of BP, TT, pulse, breath
controls basic dressing techniques, dressing and wound care
prepares aids and assists in puncture
performs venous and capillary blood collection, urine collection in a patient without PMK and PMK, sputum collection in a patient with unsecured airways, faecal collection
controls the oral administration of drugs, the preparation and administration of injectable drugs s.c., i.m., i.v., the preparation and administration of insulin
performs cannulation of peripheral vein and administration of drugs to PVC
prepares and administers infusion solutions
is able to introduce and care for nasogastric tube, controls nasogastric feeding
is able to perform bladder catheterization in a woman and can help with bladder catheterization in a man
can deliver oxygen therapy with O2 half mask and O2 spectacles
can aspirate a patient from the upper respiratory tract
