Course content
MICROBIOLOGY - 2 weeks (80 hours) Content content of practice - operating rules of the relevant microbiological laboratory, principles of work safety, principles of disinfection and sterilization. - receipt and identification of material, SOP - preparation of cultivation media and possibly sterility verification - examination of the throat, nose, swabs from the ear, conjunctival sac - examination of wounds - examination of sputum, bronchial lavage of pus - examination of urine, urethral swabs - stool examination - examination of dialysate, punctate - cerebrospinal fluid examination - examination of cannula, catheter - blood examination from blood culture - anaerobic examination - mycological examination - examination of part of the tissue - examination for Helicobacter pylori from a biopsy sample - examination of the vaginal image - examination of mycoplasma, ureaplasma - Chlamydia examination - sterility examination - determining the minimum inhibitory concentration of the antibiotic and allowing bound antibiotics - examination of Legionella pneumophila HISTOPATHOLOGY - 2 weeks (80 hours) Content content of practice - preparation of material for histological use - basic freezing technique - the technique of making microtome sections - hematoxylin - eosin staining - Mallory staining - histochemistry of inorganic substances - Feulgen reaction, methyl green, apyronin - PAS, Best's crimson - staining of mucopolysaccharides, mucoproteins and glycoproteins - sudanophilia, OsO4 - enzyme staining - epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, nervous system, circulatory system, respiratory system, lymphatic system, glands with internal secretion, digestive system, urinary system, sexual system, skin, and nervous system, senses IMMUNOLOGY - 2 weeks (80 hours) Content content of practice - internal and external quality control of examinations in the immunological laboratory, sampling of material - ELISA, RIA - immunofluorescence methods, IgA, IgE - CRP - antibodies against grasses - antibodies against milk and gliacin - antibodies against mites - complement - immunocomplexes - determination of T lymphocytes - opsonization test - NBT test

to explain the principles of laboratory methods for monitoring humoral and cellular immunity
to explain the principle of ELISA immunochemical methodology using an enzyme to mark an antigen or an antibody

to classify individual tissues
independently to perform fixation, embedding, staining and sectioning of tissues
to collect and transport a biological sample to the microbiology laboratory
to observe health protection principles when handling a biological sample
to determine the method of species identification of microorganisms (light microscopy, cultivation, biochemical, immunological and molecular methods)
to perform protein detection under supervision, including Ig nephelometry and turbidimetry and detection of circulating immunocomplexes
by the flow cytometry method to determine under supervision the phenotyping of T and B lymphocytes, the basophil activation test, blast transformation of lymphocytes and oxidative burst

Skills
applies the principles of aseptic work in the microbiology laboratory in order to prevent contamination of samples with live microbial cells during laboratory processing
evaluates the external and internal quality of the microbiological examination of the collected biological material
processes the collected sample from a technical and methodological point of view and describes it
determines sensitivity to ATB
prepares biological material for histological use, processes it, cuts and stains it
masteres basic freezing technique and work on a microtome
determines antibodies, number and differential budget of leukocytes in peripheral blood
works with a flow cytometer, turbidimeter or nephelometer and controls instrumentation for performing and evaluating ELISA reactions
prepares preparations for immunofluorescence examination
