Course content
Lectures 1. Introduction to psychiatry, history and division of the field. The concept of mental illness. Legal status of the mentally ill, legal eligibility, criminal liability of the patient with mental disorder, voluntary and involuntary hospitalization of the patient with mental disorder. Access to the patient with the following symptoms: 2. Mental disorders and behavioral disorders caused by the use of psychoactive substances. 3. Schizophrenia. 4. Mood disorders. 5. Phobic anxiety disorders, generalized anxiety disorder. 6. Obsessive compulsive disorder, conversion disorders. 7. Response to severe stress, somatoform disorder. 8. Eating disorders. 9. Specific personality disorders, impulsive disorders. 10. Disorders of sexual identity, disorders of sexual preference. Exercises 1. History in psychiatry, symptoms, syndromes and formulation of psychiatric diagnosis. 2. Communication, first contact with the patient, basics of crisis intervention. 3. Model situation - intoxicated patient 4. Model situation - suicidal patient 5. Model situation - aggressive patient 6. Model situation - patient unable to communicate. 7. Model situation - anxiety patient. 8. Model situation - depressed patient. 9. Model situation - neurotic patient. 10. Credit test.
