Course content
Lectures 1. Specifics of patient care in intensive care. Categorization of patients in intensive care. Receiving a patient at the ward emergency care. 2. Transfusion preparations and blood derivatives, principles of effective haemotherapy. Access to a life-threatening patient bleeding in emergency care. 3. Infusion solutions and fluid therapy in emergency care. 4. Primary examination of the patient with sudden deterioration. 5. Continuous credit test. 6. Catheterization of central veins. Central venous pressure monitoring. Preparation of aids and assistance in introducing arterial inputs. 7. Ensuring airway patency in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. Medical gases and principles working with them. 8. Patient care for artificial lung ventilation. Non-invasive artificial pulmonary ventilation. 9. Internal environment and disorders of acid-base balance in emergency care. 10. Credit test. Exercises 1. Nursing table in intensive care. Patient Hygiene in Intensive Care Environment. Instrumentation in emergency care. 2. Monitoring and instrumentation in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care - Part 1. 3. Monitoring and instrumentation in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care - 2nd part. 4. Ensuring airway patency - practical training. 5. Ensuring airway patency - practical training. Respiratory care in pre-hospital and hospital emergency care. Oxygen therapy. 6. Intraoseal approach. Practical training of cannulation of peripheral veins and intraosseous approach. Aids and equipment in pre-hospital emergency care. 7. Preparation of transfusions. Introduction and care of NGS. 8. Parenteral and enteral nutrition in emergency care. 9. Extended urgent resuscitation - practical training of adult resuscitation. 10. Extended urgent resuscitation - practical resuscitation of children.
