Course content
Lectures 1. Target volumes in radiotherapy, ICRU recommendations. 2. Imaging methods in radiotherapy. 3. Planning radiotherapy - 3D planning, inverse planning, batch specification. 4. Basic irradiation techniques, collimation systems, wedge filters, penumbra. 5. Fractionation regimes in radiotherapy. 6. X-ray and CT simulator. 7. Verification systems in radiotherapy. 8. Adverse effects of radiotherapy and their treatment. 9. Perspectives of radiation oncology. Exercises 1. - 2. Machplan Planning System. 3. - 4. Basics of 2D and 3D planning. 5. - 6. Interpretation of basic concepts in RT planning (isocenter, SSD, collimation, etc.). 7. - 8. Simulator - simulation of basic techniques - AP-PA, 1 direct field. 9. Repetition.

  • Contact hours - 45 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 30 hours per semester
