Course content
Lectures 1. Definition of radiobiology, dosimetry 2. Basics of medical genetics, types of heredity. 3. Composition of living matter, cell and its components. 4. Cell cycle and cell division (compartments). 5. Biology of malignant tumors. 6. Radiosensitivity and radioresistance, radiocurability. 7. Physical basis of radiobiology, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. 8. Linear energy transfer (LET). 9. - 10. Single hit and sub-lethal damage. 11. - 12. Biological dose equivalent (BED), conversion models - especially LQ 13. - 14. Oxygen effect. 15. Repetition.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 15 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 10 hours per semester
