Course content
Lectures 1. US principle of origin of ultrasound image, resolution, penetration of ultrasound tissue, A-mode, B-mode, M-mode, color Doppler analysis. 2. Basic components of ultrasound equipment, types of probes and their use, ultrasound examination, causes of artefacts. 3. Liver, bile ducts and gallbladder. 4. Pancreas, spleen, abdominal vessels and lymph nodes. 5. Digestive tube and peritoneal cavity. 6. Kidneys and adrenals, pelvis. 7. Breast, thyroid, sonography in emergent conditions. 8. Sonography in Pediatrics and Gynecology. 9. Vascular examination (dopplerometry), endoluminal sonography.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 18 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 30 hours per semester
