Course content
1. Nutrition and metabolism. Nutrition as a factor of external environment occuring both at a beginning of a disease and as a preventive factor of a particular disease. 2.Criteria of healthy nutrition, factors affecting condition of an individual. Healthy Eating Pyramid. Drinking regime. 3.Determination of nutritional condition. Reasonable weight, BI. 4.Impact of diseases on nutrition. Therapeutical nutrition. Diet system. 5.Disorders of food intake. Starving. Cronic malnutrition. Obesity. Anorexia nervosa.Bulimia. 6.Enteral nutrition. - alternative methods, particular components of nutrition. Means of artificial feeding, food making, prevention of complications. Nutrition through stomach and duodenal probes. Nutrition after jejunostomy. 7.Parenteral nutrition. Means. Complications. Kinds of nutritional solutions. Time regime. 8.Nutrition in pregnancy and puerperium. 9.Breastfeeding. Nutrition of newborn. 10.Contemporary trends. Importance of breastfeeding. Healthy population.
