Course content
A Lab exercise 1. Safety of work in the laboratory. Handling of equipment and chemicals, protective equipment, basics of metrology and ISO standards. 2. Laboratory glass and plastic. Laboratory supplies, classification of chemicals, measurement of liquids, weighing, preparation of solutions, filtration. 3. Laboratory equipment and basic procedures. Laboratory supplies in clinical laboratories, cooling and heating devices, laminar box, pipetting. 4. - 5. Types and preparation of biological material. Collection and types of biological material, preparation, isolation, homogenization. 6. - 8. Light, fluorescence and electron microscopy, preparation of specimens, microscopy. 9. - 11. Cell cultures. Cell isolation, cell viability, cell cultivation. 12. - 13. Analytical principles. Spectrophotometry, electrochemistry, immunochemistry. 14. - 15. Separation analytical methods. Electrophoresis, chromatography.

  • Practical training (number of hours) - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 20 hours per semester
