1. Region until the end of the 3rd millennium BCE 2. Old Assyrian trade in Anatolia 3. Mari 4. Old Hittite period 5. Neo-Hittite period 6. Hurrians and Mitanni 7. Ugarit and Amarna period 8. The Sea Peoples 9. Urartu 10. Lydia and Phrygia 11. Syro-Palestinian region under Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian domination 12. Hellenistic period 13. Relations with the Greeks and Rome

learning outcomes
Student will be able to draw up a timeline of important events of ancient Asia Minor and Syro-Palestinian territory. He identifies particular state units in concrete periods and evaluates their historical development, relations with neighboring areas, particularly Egypt and Mesopotamian states in earlier periods, and with the Greeks and Romans in later periods. He will also be able to characterize the differences in their material culture, social organization and spiritual life.
