Course content
1. An outline of the beginnings of the theatre in the Near East, its development. 2. The history of the theatre since the beginning of the 20th century. 3. learning outcomes
The student will gain general understanding concerning the origins and development of the theatre art and its prominent personalities in the Near East. He/she will be able to talk about the role of theatre in the social life of the Arabic people as well as recognize the specific features of the Near Eastern theatre compared to the European theatre.
