Course content
1. General characteristics of Islam 2. Religious history of Islam 3. Proplet Muhammad 4. Hijra and its importace for religious thinking 5. The Holy Koran and the history of its canonisation 6. The sense and the function of Koran text 7. Koranic exegesis 8. Traditionalism 9. Pratet and ritual purity 10. Fast, pilgrimage 11. Relationship of man and God and its legal conditions 12. Madh´habs, fatwas 13. Indiginous Muslim community

learning outcomes
Identify main sources of islamic religious thought. Name the most important events of islamic religious history. Analyzes particular phenomena of classic islam and evaluates thein importace for daily life of ordinary believers.
