Course content
1st lecture Periodic system. Periodicity of elements properties and their compounds. 2nd lecture The structure of crystalline matters. Symmetry of crystal lattices. 3rd lecture Stereochemistry of inorganic compounds. 4th lecture Hydrogen and hydrides. Oxygen, oxides. 5th lecture Characteristics of s-elements. Alkali metals. Metals of alkaline earths. Characteristics of p-elements. 6th lecture Inert gases. Boron group. 7th lecture Carbon and its homologues. 8th lecture Nitrogen and its homologues. 9th lecture Chalcogens. Halogens. 10th lecture d-Block - general properties of metals. Coordination compounds. Theory of crystal and ligand field. 11th lecture Chemistry of transition elements and their compounds. 12th lecture f-elements - general characteristics. Lanthanide chemistry. Chemistry of actinides. 13th lecture Occurrence of elements in nature (composition of the Earth, sun and space chemistry, mineral resources and the environment).
