Course content
Seminars are focused on the experimental activity of chemistry teachers at elementary schools and they are a practical application of knowledge gained within the subjects Didactics of Chemistry 1 and Didactics of Chemistry 2. Students demonstrate the theoretical knowledge needed to explain the various chemical processes, controlling of basic laboratory techniques and they acquire skills associated with the demonstration of experiments which are used in chmistry lessons at elementary school. 1) Carbon, silicon 2) Aluminum, stannum, lead 3) Alkaline metals 4) d-elements 5) Hydrocarbons and derivatives of hydrocarbons 6) Natural products

Learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory work, Skills demonstration, Individual study
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Practical training (number of hours) - 39 hours per semester
  • Preparation for laboratory testing; outcome analysis (1-8) - 10 hours per semester
prerequisite
Knowledge
in preparation for laboratory work to assess the risks of work with a specific group of chemicals with which the student will work, look up the safety data sheets of these substances on the Internet
to build on knowledge and skills gained in KCH / TD1ZŠ
know how to work with aggressive, corrosive, poisonous, flammable, oxidizing and other groups of dangerous substances
to acquire knowledge of specialized subjects, especially general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry and fundamentals of didactics of chemistry
Skills
the ability to perform chemical experiments while respecting all health and safety rules at work
the ability to assemble equipment to individual laboratory techniques and to use the kits used in KCH / TD1ZŠ
when conducting experiments, consistently follow the correct methodological procedures and take care of OSH
master basic laboratory techniques - glass, filtration, crystallization, distillation, sublimation, chromatographic division, titration and other techniques covered in KCH / TD1ZŠ
learning outcomes
Knowledge
to master the issues of basic subjects - pedagogy, psychology, chemistry didactics, vocational subjects
demonstrate knowledge of procedures for working with aggressive, corrosive, poisonous, flammable, oxidizing and other groups of hazardous substances
to choose attempts to respect all occupational health and safety rules and to decide which attempts are appropriate for pupils who are ineligible for school demonstrations
in preparation for laboratory work to assess the risks of work with a specific group of chemicals with which the student will work, look up the safety data sheets of these substances on the Internet
to study the instructions for a set group of experiments and to divide them into experiments suitable for pupils' work and demonstration exercises by the teacher
to prepare a theoretical explanation of the principle of each experiment conducted and the conclusions that result from the experiment
Skills
attempts to respect all health and safety rules at work
to educate students about OSH and to provide first aid in bleeding, burning, burning, electric shock, unconsciousness, poisoning with poisonous substance
