Course content
1) How space is made. Public Vs. private space, right to the city (H. Lefebvre, D. Harvey) 2) Social construction of environmental problems or what is real. Construction of social reality. Necessary factors for "constructing" an environmental problem 3) Science will give us valuable data. Science and its role in (recognizing) environmental problems in modern society. "Green" critique of science. 4) Risk. Risk culture (Douglas and Wildavsky). Sociology of risk. Risk company (Beck). 5) Environmental movement. The role of social movements in environmental protection. 6) Climate change, climate crisis, climate collapse. 7) Climate change, climate crisis, climate collapse.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 8 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 30 hours per semester
