Course content
Weeks 1 - 13 Assignment of the theme of term project. Designing shoes, reflecting not only functional aspects but also a specific thematic content. Literature search on the assignement and respective problems in general. Initial drawing sketches. Modelling and sketching on shoetree. Technology and processing of the model. Possible cooperation with an industrial manufacturer. Making the model out of a suitable material.

Knowledge
Successful admission to the master's program at art school. Knowledge of garment construction and processing technology. Knowledge of fashion illustration, fashion history and development trends in the field. The course is designed exclusively for FDU students.
learning outcomes
Students will be able to apply their existing knowledge of technical solutions to garment design in designing shoes. They will be able to analyze the context and procedures so as to work on initial thoughts, they will be able to come up with their own concept, adapt the conceptual idea to operational demands and resolve the conceptual design in relief. They will be able to choose the most appropriate technology and material composition; they will be able to use their design skills in designing uncommon shapes of shoes. They will know the principles of healthy and safe footwear, including ergonomics. They will be able to take them into account when designing shoes.
