Course content
This course is designed for students of technical colleges -in both bachelor's and follow-up master's programs - with interest in design. Weeks 1 - 13 Creation of drawing or, if necessary, spatial sketch models or 3D models using computational processes to optimize mechanical properties of the product. Continuous assignment, submission and consultation of all seminar sub-tasks. Ongoing corrections of assignments.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture with practical applications, Students' portfolio, Skills demonstration, Task-based study method, Individual study, Students' self-study, Lecture with visual aids, Seminar
  • Contact hours - 65 hours per semester
  • Graduate study programme term essay (40-50) - 95 hours per semester
prerequisite
Knowledge
structuring and processing search reports, about drawing procedures and composing 3D product sketches in 3D editors and free hands, designing variants with a view to correctly linking the function and aesthetics of the product, on ways of communicating with the contracting authority in order to identify his / her requirements, about the technical and technological procedures of processing a 3D model of a product or prototype of complex project assignment, about ways of critically assessing his own work in a discipline context, about the possibilities of full involvement in the design team, on ways to justify and defend their own design activities in relation to other members of the design team, about the appropriate forms of presentation and promotion of the prototype/project
Skills
fully involved in the design team, writes and equips visualization of the product search in the given thematic area, sketches the design variants of the produced product with respect to its technical functionality and aesthetic qualities, chooses the most appropriate option and creates complex project documentation, explains and defends his choice to other members of the design team, his proposal and selection submits to the contracting authority and explains it with regard to the assignment and the established requirements, chooses the appropriate modeling technology and design the prototype technology, creates a 3D model of complex product using standard modeling techniques, 3D editors and 3D printing, critically assesses his/her own work in the field context and style framework, chooses appropriate forms of presentation and promotion of the prototype/project
