Course content
Legislative system of mandatory care for the safety of electrical equipment, legislation, technical standards. Professional competence in electrical engineering, operation and work on electrical equipment, human factor influence on safety, effects of electric current on the human body, normalized IEC voltages. Influence of technical parameters on safety, types of electrical networks, safety significance of color and alphanumeric marking in electrical engineering. Electrical equipment - determination of basic characteristics, coding of external influences, types of spaces in terms of the risk of electric shock. Protection against electric shock, common aspects of installation of equipment, application of means of protection according to the space and way of operation of the equipment. The concept of protection against electric shock, basic principles of protective measures applied. Protection under normal conditions (basic protection), fault protection, enhanced protection, additional protection. Generally allowed protective measures - automatic disconnection from the source, double or reinforced insulation, low voltage (SELV, PELV). Some other safeguards. Coordination of protection measures, class of protection of electrical equipment.
