Course content
1. water stream energy potential, flow and duration curves, measurement methods 2. historical development of water energy usage and hydraulic engines, water wheels and water turbine types 3. hydro power plants classification, types, usage, deployment, load chart covering, small hydro power plants 4. technological components of hydro power plants, design 5. modern types of water turbines, basic parts, principles 6. utilization of water energy in turbine, basics of turbine type design, turbines for small hydro power plants 7. water turbine operating parameters, specific revolutions, water turbine diagrams, turbine design, cavitation 8. water wheels and non-traditional hydraulic engines, applications for small hydro power plants 9. calculation of wind energy, energy potential of the location, methods of measurement 10. historical overview of wind usage and eolic engines 11. eolilc engine power, power factor, eolic engines with horizontal axis and vertical axis 12. wind power stations, structural design, working diagram 13. legislative and economics of hydro and wind power stations, grid connection, energy storage
