Course content
1. AD, DA audio converters - their topology, function, fundamental technical parameters, measurement, testing and signal processing 2. Analog audio recording systems, part I. - fundamental technical parameters and working principle, description and operation, measurement of their individual parts, digitizing and optimal signal preprocessing of record player and tape recorder signal 3. Analog audio recording systems, part II. - fundamental technical parameters and working principle, description and operation, measurement of their individual parts, digitizing and optimal signal preprocessing of record player and tape recorder signal 4. Interfaces of analog audio systems, impedance and level matching of individual parts of an analog audio chain 5. Digital audio recording systems, part I. - fundamental technical parameters and working principle, description, operation and measurement (CD-DA, Sony Minidisc, SACD, DVD Audio...) 6. Digital audio recording systems, part II. - fundamental technical parameters and working principle, description, operation and measurement (CD-DA, Sony Minidisc, SACD, DVD Audio...) 7. Interfaces of digital audio systems, fundamental technical parameters, description, operation and measurement (SPDIF, Toslink, TDIF, ADAT, AES3/AES11/AES-EBU...) 8. Multichannel audio systems - fundamental working principle, their technical parameters, operation and measurement 9. Measurement and testing of audio systems, part I. - basic description of measurement hw chain, technical parameters, description of basic measurement methods, processing of measurement results, analog and digital implementation of fundamental measurement methods 10. Measurement and testing of audio systems, part II. - basic description of measurement hw chain, technical parameters, description of basic measurement methods, processing of measurement results, analog and digital implementation of fundamental measurement methods 11. Hw and sw tools for digital signal processing of audio - application of DSP in audio systems, fast development of DSP audio applications - examples, demonstrations 12. Hw for analog signal processing, part I. - VCA, differential signal receivers and tramsmitters, low noise preamplifiers and mic preamplifiers, output buffers, antialiasing and restitution filters 13. Hw for analog signal processing, part II. - VCA, differential signal receivers and tramsmitters, low noise preamplifiers and mic preamplifiers, output buffers, antialiasing and restitution filters
