Course content
Introduction to statistics. Descriptive statistics. Probability. Random variable. Special distribution of random variable. Multidimensional random variable. Central limit theorem. Random sampling. Point estimation. Interval estimation. Indexes. Used SW: Excel, Statistica, Mathematica. Additional information for students of so-called combined study form is available in Courseware.

explain basics of probability and Bayes probability.
explain basic concepts of statistics and the methods of data gathering.
use descriptive characteristics of population and sample file.
explain basic concepts of random variable.
describe selected distributions of random variable and normal distribution.
apply Law of large numbers and Central limit theorem.
calculate point and interval estimation of population parameters.

select suitable method for sample file creation
calculate characteristics of statistics file.
determine probability of simple events and probability of combination of events.
describe random variable using distribution and calculate moments of random variable.
select suitable distribution of random variable and use it for solution of practical problems.
use normal and stnadard normal distribution, quantils and table values of distribution function.
apply consequences of Central limit theorem for solution of selected probloems.
estimate parameters of population using point estimation, construct interval estimation of these parematers.
