Course content
1. Dawn of Electrical Engineering 2. Before Classical Electrodynamics 3. The rise of classical electrodynamics (M. Faraday, J. C. Maxwell) 4. Mathematical theory of electromagnetism 5. Introduction to the theory of electrical circuits; Development of electrical measurement 6. Electromagnetic waves; Development of communication technology 7. Development of electrical machines 8. Nikola Tesla and development of the electrical power engineering 9. History of the electrical power engineering (T. A. Edison, Fr. Křižík) 10.The development of mathematics in the late 16th century; The discovery of calculus 11. The main features of 19th century mathematics 12. History of education in electrical engineering 13. Philosophical aspects of electrical engineering (creative thinking, intuition, hypothesis, theory, social practice)

Students get an overview of the development of knowledge about the physical nature of electric and magnetic phenomena, the application of knowledge in development of communication and electro power supply equipment, the development of Czech and international electrical engineering industry, development of electrical engineering higher education and the foundations of psychology of creative activities.
