Course content
Practicals 1. Introduction to communication and communication technologies. Selection policy and its options of acquisition. 2. Alternative communication. Communication aids for people with speech disabilities. 3. Augmentative communication. Use of PC in therapy. 4. Principles of communication with clients with different disabilities. 5. Communication of hearing impaired. Communication tools for people with hearing disabilities. 6. Communication of the visually impaired. Communication tools for the visually impaired. 7. Communication of mentally disabled. Communication of people with affected psyche. 8. Communication of physically disabled. Communication tools for people with physical disabilities. 9. Communication in geriatrics. 10. Communication in pediatrics. 11. Excursion - Tyfloservis. 12. Excursion - School for the hearing impaired.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Practical training (number of hours) - 36 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 6 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 15 hours per semester
