Course content
Lectures 1. Illness and its causes. Etiology and pathogenesis of diseases. 2. Regressive changes. Death of the organism and death of the cell. Apoptosis. Necrosis (types of necrosis and their healing). Heart attack definition, types of heart attacks. Gangrene. Atrophy. Jaundice. 3. Inflammation, types of inflammation. Inflammation specific. General infections (bacteremia, sepsis, pyemia). 4. Progressive changes. Regeneration. Reparation. Hypertrophy, hyperplasia. Metaplasia, dysplasia and precancerous lesions. 5. Oncopatology. Benign and malignant tumors-characteristics. Molecular nature and causes of tumors. Histogenetic classification of tumors. False tumors. 6. Local and general disorders of blood circulation. Manifestations and causes of circulatory disorders. Heart failure. 7. Pathology of the cardiovascular system. 8. Pathology of the respiratory system. 9. Pathology of the gastrointestinal system. 10. Pathology of the excretory system. 11. Pathology of the nervous system. 12. Pathology of the locomotor system. 13. Selected chapters from the pathology of the endocrine and reproductive system. Credit test.
