Course content
Lectures 1. Illness and its causes. Etiology and pathogenesis of diseases. Physical causes of the disease. Chemical causes of the disease. Genetic diseases. Pathological immune response. 2. Death of the organism and cell death (necrosis and apoptosis). Types of necrosis and its healing. Heart attack - definition, types of heart attacks. Gangrene. Atrophy. 3. Dystrophy from protein metabolism disorders. Inclusion. Amyloidosis. Diabetes mellitus. Pigmentation. Icterus (causes, types). 4. Inflammation, types of inflammation, microscopic and macroscopic findings. Inflammations specific. Overall infections (bacteraemia, sepsis, pyemia). 5. Progressive changes. Regeneration. Reparation. Hypertrophy, hyperplasia. Metaplasia, dysplasia and precancerosis. 6. Introduction to oncopathology. General properties of tumors. Tumor morphology. Properties of malignant tumors at the cellular level. Classification of tumors. Grading, staging. Diagnostic, prognostic and predictive tumor markers. Benign and malignant mesenchymal tumors. Haematological tumors. Benign and malignant epithelial tumors. 7. Causes and manifestations of circulatory insufficiency. Thrombosis. Hemorrhage, hemorrhagic diathesis. Embolism. Rival. Pathology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular system. Diseases of the heart and blood vessels. 8. Pathology and pathophysiology of respiratory system. Pathology and pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal system. Diseases liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary tract. 9. Pathology and pathophysiology of kidneys and urinary tract pathways. Prostate pathology. Pathology of the sexual system male and female. Diseases of the mammary gland. 10. Pathology of nervous and endocrine systems. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
